1. Dubai received 14.36 million international overnight visitors in 2022.

According to Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, visitor figures are growing at 97 per cent YoY from the 7.28 million tourist arrivals in 2021 to 14.36 million in 2022. With pre-pandemic visitation | of 16.73 million in 2019, Dubai’s 2022 tourism performance further validated its ranking as the No.1 global destination.

2. Indian citizens can now apply for US B1/B2 visa while travelling abroad.

As per a recent tweet dated February 3, 2023, by the US Embassy, Indian citizens who have upcoming international travel may be able to get a visa appointment at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their destination. For e.g., The US Embassy in Bangkok has opened B1/B2 appointment capacity for Indians who will be in Thailand in the coming months.

3. Free four-day visa introduced for Saudi Arabia air travelers.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a new transit visa, for passengers booked on Saudi Arabian airlines – Saudia Airlines or Flynas- with a stopover in the country. The visa has a validity of three months and will be issued free of cost. you can apply for the visa up to 90 days before you travel.

4. India among top five performing tourism source markets for Kenya.

In 2022, the arrivals into Kenya from the Indian source market recorded a growth of 93.2 percent from 42,159 in 2021 to 81,458 in 2022. This is a recovery of 67 percent compared to the 2019 performance of 120,893. Kenya is expecting 130,000 Indian tourists by the end of this year.

5. Assam Tourism launches Helicopter services.

In the first phase, the service will be operational on the ‘Dibrugarh-Jorhat-Tezpur-Guwahati-Tezpur-Jorhat-Dibrugarh’ network in Assam. The Tourism Ministry said that operationalisation of the six routes will create ease of travel for the residents of the region and give a boost to trade and tourism.

6. Centre relaxes COVID-19 travel norms for passengers from China, 5 other countries.

The Health Ministry has dropped requirements of pre-departure COVID-19 testing and uploading of Self-Health Declaration for international travellers coming from/via China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan. However, the random testing of 2 percent travellers coming to India will continue.

7. Hong Kong launches ‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign, offers 500000 free air tickets.
