1. The Singapore Airlines A350 returns to Kolkata this summer!

Starting 26 March 2023, Airbus 350-900 wide-body aircraft will resume operations between Kolkata and Singapore! A350-900 Business Class cabin has 40 lie- flat seats that ensure direct aisle access for every customer, while the Economy Class cabin as 263 ergonomically designed seats for greater relaxation. While the A350 will operate from Kolkata every Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

2. Goa tourism body welcomes state move to regulate water sports.

The Goa bench of the Bombay High court recently ordered the Goa Tourism Dept to introduce a ‘queue system” for water sports and regulate recreational activity. Nilesh Shah, President, Travel and Tourism Association of Goa, said such a step was necessary as many water sports overcharge customers, bringing a bad name to the state. “When there is a system, it is beneficial to everyone. With this, the safety angle will also come into the picture,” he said.

3. Swiss Travel Pass 4+1 / 8+2 days.

From 15 April until 14 May 2023. It allows for unlimited use of Switzerland’s public transportation system — train, bus, boat, you name it. 4. Nepal mandates guides for foreign solo trekkers from April.

Nepal has decided to bar solo or independent trekkers from trekking in Nepal without the help of a guide starting from April 1, 2023. The Nepal Tourism Board has made it mandatory for a sole foreign trekker to take a guide. “The decision was taken considering the safety of such trekkers,” said Board

5. Assam Tourism eyes over 10 million domestic travellers in FY2023

There has been a surge in tourists visiting the state. “Till January of this fiscal, we have hosted over 88 lakh domestic visitors, double of FY20 (51 lakhs). This is a positive sign as more people are looking at exploring the North East and Assam as destination,” said MD and Secretary, ATDC.

6. Russia now working on simplified visa regime with six nations including India.

Russian News Agency TASS reported the details citing Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov. “In addition to India, we are also working on draft inter-government agreements that imply mutual simplification of visa regime with Angola, Vietnam, Indonesia, Syria and the Philippines,” Ivanov said.
