1. GVCW and GBS launch new Greece Visa Application Center in New Delhi.

GBS Technology Services has partnered with Global Visa Centre World, the exclusive External Service Provider to the Greek Consular and Diplomatic Authorities to roll out new and spacious Visa Application Centres (VACS) for travellers to Greece from India. The first centre was launched in Delhi on May 11 and GBS will roll out new VACS in Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai with assistance from VFS Global.

2. Siachen Base Camp open for tourists, NOC/authorisation not required.

The tourist facility near Siachen Base Camp is now open for tourists without NOC or authorisation from Indian Army, said a notice from the Union Territory of Ladakh Tourism Department. The people of Nubra in particular and all tourism- related stakeholders of Ladakh in general were demanded the opening up of Siachen Base Camp for tourists.

3. Dubai opens three new beaches for night swimming.

Dubai Municipality has further expanded its beach tourism offering with the opening of three new beaches for night swimming in Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqeim 1. The 800m-long night-swim beaches feature lighting systems, which enable residents and tourists to swim around the clock.

4. Air India and IndiGo increase flights frequencies.

Domestic carriers have increased the flight frequencies on several busy routes to fill the vacuum left by Go First. As per reports, Air India has added flights on Delhi-Srinagar and Delhi-Leh routes. IndiGo has also launched flights connecting the two cities from Mumbai.

5. Embassy of Georgia to India opens e- Visa facility for Indian nationals.

The e-Visa facility allows applicants to fill out an online form and upload the necessary documents, which will then be securely verified by the Embassy of Georgia. All applications will be processed within five business days of submission. Indian nationals to apply for their visa quickly and conveniently.

6.Ramgarh crater in Rajasthan to be developed as a tourist destination.

Ramgarh Crater is a geo heritage zone believed to be 600 million years old. “The budget announcement was made by CM Ashok Gehlot to develop this area as a Geo Heritage tourist destination. Development work is being done here for Rs 57.22 crore, which includes beautification of the lake, construction of infrastructure, and other decorative works,” said Rashmi Sharma, Director, Tourism.
