1. US expands premium processing of various visa and green card.

“In March, we will expand premium processing to certain F-1 students seeking Optional Practical Training (OPT) and F-1 students seeking STEM OPT extensions who have a pending Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. In April, we will expand premium processing to F-1 students seeking OPT and F-1 students seeking STEM OPT extensions who are filing an initial Form I-765,” USCIS said.

2. Tier I & II airports should be privatised, govt to privatise 25 more airports: Rao

Shri Narayan Rao, Deputy MD, GMR Group and Chairman ASSOCHAM National Council on Civil Aviation, said that Tier 1 & 2 airports should be privatised. “Govt is planning another 25 airports for privatisation. The most important stakeholders are airports.”

3. Croatia’s Kuna ceases circulation as Euro takes over.

Kuna, the official currency of Croatia, ceased circulation on January 15 as Euro became the sole legal tender in the country. Croatia joined the eurozone on New Year’s Day and in order to help residents adapt to the use of Euro, the government introduced a two-week period of dual circulation of both currencies from Jan 1 to midnight of Jan 14 when Kuna ceased circulation.

4. India was 2nd largest tourist market for Singapore in 2022.

According to data provided by STB, India has been ranked the 2nd-largest tourist market for Singapore in 2022 after Indonesia, reporting 6,86,000 Indian arrivals. Indonesians, Indians & Australians were top spending tourists in the first nine months of 2022.

5. India ranks 2nd largest tourist market for Singapore in Year 2022

India has been ranked the second-largest tourist market for Singapore in 2022 with 686,000 Indian arrivals, according to Singapore’s tourism authority. Tourists from Indonesia, India and Australia were among the top spenders in the first nine months of 2022.

6. Air India is set to order around 500 planes: AirLease Corp’s

Air India is set to order around 500 planes as an air- line industry recovery takes hold post-pandemic. Steven Udvar-Hazy, Executive Chairman, AirLease Corp said, “We have 500-aircraft order coming out of India, including 400 narrow-body and 100 wide-bodies”.
